My challenge

My challenge

Everyday I strive to figure out the best ways to improve my English language skills. For so long it hasn't been going as I expected while I know that learning anything in this world is truly take time and so much effort. compare to Vietnamese in English I'm just like a six year old kid with a limit amount of words.

Honestly, I really know the reasons why I haven't made so much progress in the last six years. At first, I did had an exact goal for learning English, but I failed to achieve it as I lacked commitment to the learning path. I had around four years of university but I didn't spend it wisely to learn English as fast as I could. This lead to the result that I didn't have a good command of English and a prestigious certificate in English like IELTS which I intended to get by the time I graduated from university. In addition to that, what made me didn't have a huge lead in English is simply because I'm obsessed with the idea that I must have a good "American accent", so I wasted so much time for practising my accent. wishing to have a perfect accent in English isn't a bad idea, but for an international learners who take English as a second language not your mother tongue just like me, priority wise, because there are so many things to learn and only good at accent is not enough. I didn't know this at the time but later when working with my foreign bosses I realized that my English was not as good as I thought just because it didn't learn it in a right way, which is the reason why I decided to stop learning following the old way and think again about new way of studying English.

It is true from the fact that the foundation for a language is vocabulary, if I don't have a great deal amount of vocabulary I can't go any further. I named it post is "My Challenge" to remind myself that from now on my focal point definitely will be on getting new English words. Whenever I have a chance to know about new words I will frequently write them down on this blog to make myself get used to them.
